Imprint is a project inspired by a true story told to me by a kind man who lives in Lampedusa. It is the story of a shipwreck, it is the story of the Mediterranean Sea and the tragic fate of millions of people. The project focuses on bodies, our physical and mental influence on the world, on society, on the people around us and on our own physicality. It works on memory on a physical level, on the importance of touch and physical contact in the memory process and on what happens when the physical part fails. During the photo shoot the dancers danced and moved in groups of 2,3 or 4, feeling their physical presence and, at a certain point, leaving the others and remembering their thoughts.
